About UtilYard
A free, privacy-respecting collection of tools for everyday tasks — no account required.
What is UtilYard?
UtilYard is a collection of 57 free online tools covering four categories: developer utilities, text processing, finance calculators, and image tools. Every tool runs entirely in your browser — nothing you type or upload is sent to a server.
The site also includes 54 in-depth guides that explain the concepts behind the tools: how tax brackets work, what JSON is, how compound interest accumulates, what a UUID is, and more. The guides are written to be genuinely useful whether or not you use the tool.
Privacy-first design
All tools process data locally in your browser using JavaScript. When you paste text, upload an image, or enter financial figures, that data never leaves your device. UtilYard has no backend that processes user input, no database storing your data, and no account system.
The site uses Google Analytics for anonymous usage statistics (which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are from) and Google AdSense to serve ads. Both are disclosed in the Privacy Policy.
Tool categories
JSON formatter, Base64 encoder, UUID generator, regex tester, JWT decoder, hash generator, cron parser, URL encoder, number base converter, and more.
Word counter, case converter, slug generator, whitespace remover, find and replace, text sorter, duplicate line remover, diff checker, and more.
Mortgage calculator, compound interest calculator, tax bracket calculator, budget calculator, retirement calculator, loan amortization, debt payoff planner, and more.
Image compressor, PNG to WebP converter, image resizer, EXIF viewer, favicon generator, placeholder image generator, image to Base64, and color picker.
Guides
Each tool category is paired with written guides that explain the underlying concepts. The Guides section covers topics like how mortgage amortization works, what a hash function does, how to read a diff, what compound interest means in practice, and many more.
Guides are meant to be genuinely informative rather than just marketing copy for the tools. They include worked examples, comparison tables, code snippets, and FAQs.
